The artist has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to preserve the UK's grassroots live music spots.
Fender was given the award on mid-October as his new release his work was named the outstanding release of the previous year.
Fender has decided to give the cash to the MVT, in recognition of the crucial part grassroots venues played in his early career.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it weren't for all the performances I played around the area, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," said Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are struggling."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – roughly 16 percent of the total UK scene.
In the last year, top acts including the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their ticket prices, which goes to help local stages.
He also took part, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help 38 grassroots venues across Britain.
The money supported venues that were facing possible closure due to challenges arising from water damage, fires and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and noise complaints.
Additional spaces received monetary aid in improving infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that directly benefitted musicians and audiences.
"The notion that funds from performances in major spaces supports the independent spots, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to contribute his honor prize money to worthy causes.
When they received the trophy in the mid-90s for their album Different Class, lead singer the singer announced that the group would donate their prize money to the non-profit the charity.
That year, rapper and singer the artist shared her prize across several organizations, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I contributed a grand to the center, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they required better apparatus," the artist shared with the media.
Two years ago, the band contributed their funds to the local youth club that developed their band, alongside other local music groups.
Additionally winners that year M People contributed their prize to a MS organization after a close contact was diagnosed the condition.
"The victory was sufficient," stated singer Small. "The money was the extra but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the cake. So our victory impacted somebody else's life."
Last week, the trust revealed it had protected a couple of local spots in the South East, by placing them under public stewardship.
The Joiners in Southampton and The Croft in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is funded by Arts Council England and supporters who buy "shares" in the venues.
