Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
